Understanding Your New Baby
Caring for your baby should be your greatest joy. There is nothing more joyful for every mother. For most
parents, the birth of their newborn can be likened to the dawn of a new and exciting day. There is no other event
that could be more significant. It can also be the scariest time in their lives because having a baby means a whole
new set of responsibilities. Everything else takes the backseat because the baby is their utmost duty.
Being a parent is a constant learning experience. They will discover things about babies they’ve never realized.
The child has so many needs, and while they are young they can do nothing more than cry to say what they need.
Moms and dads need to comprehend that babies are not equipped to recognize spoken words, for the time being at
least. As the months progress, the toddlers will come to understand what the parents are saying. They will begin
replying by fussing and also creating sounds of their own.
Unfortunately, most parents lead very busy lives. They have to balance work with all their other
responsibilities so that they can provide for their family and their children. If your schedule is packed, then
thirty minutes a day should suffice. Of course, the longer the time, the better it will be for your relationship
with your baby.
It also helps to work as a team with your husband. After all, it is imperative that you baby become close to its
father. Breastfeeding also does wonders when you want to get closer to your child. Doctors highly recommend breast
milk because it is rich in nutrients that you baby needs. It will help them to grow up healthy and strong.
If you are unable to nourish your toddler, you also can opt for brands that are available in the market. The
point is, be there for your baby as much as you can, especially during feeding time. Talk to them while you feed
them. It helps to communicate so that you and your child can understand each other.
So, how exactly does a baby communicate? Babies just can't express themselves as well as we can. Babies learn
early on that when they cry, someone will eventually take care of the problems at hand. Of course, the reasons for
crying can vary.
It is when you get to bond with them that will understand what the cries mean. You can hone in on the tone to
know the source of distress. Common sense plays a big part in being able to decipher the reasons. When you get it
right, your baby immediately stops crying and becomes content.
Generally, babies cry for three reasons: when they are hungry, when they wet themselves, and when they become
restless. Aside from these usual reasons, there are a number of others that could trigger a crying fit. They can
either become uncomfortable with a new face or get scared with what they saw. Bonding makes you discover the
different tones they use. And there should be no one who is more able to understand the baby than the mother.
